FULL-TIME CATALOGUER

For Fine Art, Furniture and Decorative Arts

Overall Purpose of the Role:

Cataloguer is primarily responsible for researching, cataloguing and describing consigned property for monthly catalog sale.

Essential Job Functions

(Duties include but are not limited to the following)

• Research property including authenticity, bibliography, provenance and exhibition history
• Catalogue consignments for sales
• Liaise with the Photography department for shooting priorities and organizing consignments
• Prepare condition reports of consigned property prior to each auction
• Participate in auctions, able to fill multiple roles as needed

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Art History, Decorative Arts or related field
• 1-2 years work experience in Auction, Museum or Gallery setting preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Ability to quickly learn company database systems
• Ability to work within a team environment

Working Conditions

• Working with fragile objects.
• Noise level in the work environment is moderate
